A compactor account is more than a can on a lot. Some units are yours and rented out, some belong to the customer, and every one needs hauling on a rhythm and its hydraulics looked after. DumpsterVibes runs compactors as their own module. Each unit shows where it sits, who it's with and its next booked work, and Inventory, Bookings and Dispatch show compactors on their own or merged with your roll-off dumpsters. The route planner knows a roll-off truck can carry a compactor, so a driver who works both runs them in one planned day.

Your office books a compactor rental or a haul from the same New booking screen, the booking's Swap card or the customer's own-container card. A standing haul plan keeps the next four weeks of hauls on the board as real stops, and each is charged once, when it's done. Preventive maintenance repeats on the number of days you set for each unit, and a service visit bills the call-out, labor and parts at your rates. It's built and run by a working hauler, so the module handles the parts of compactor work a desk system leaves to a spreadsheet.

Why compactor work runs cleaner on DumpsterVibes

  • Your units and theirs on one page: company compactors and customer-owned ones, each with where it sits, who it's with and its next booked work.
  • Hauls that repeat themselves: dump and return, swap or pull, on call or every week, every 2 weeks or every 30 days, with four weeks booked ahead as real stops.
  • Maintenance that doesn't slip: each unit's visits repeat on your number of days, with overdue, due this week and later lists, and due visits on Needs you today.
  • Service calls that bill themselves: assign a technician and a truck, work the checklist, and bill the call-out, labor and parts with their own sales-tax choices.
  • One truck, both jobs: the planner sends compactor work to a truck set up for roll-off dumpsters, when the driver works compactors too.

Track the unit, haul it on time, keep it running, bill the work.

What you get

  • Company-owned and customer-owned compactors, each showing where it sits, who it's with and its next booked work
  • Inventory, Bookings and Dispatch show compactors on their own or merged with your roll-off dumpsters
  • Hauls: a rented unit is dumped and returned, swapped for an empty or pulled back to the yard; a customer's own unit is dumped and returned
  • Standing haul plans every week, every 2 weeks or every 30 days, the next four weeks booked as real stops, each haul charged once when it's done and a failed haul not charged
  • Each haul at your company price or a price typed for that job
  • Preventive maintenance every number of days you set per unit (from 1 to 730), with overdue, due this week and scheduled-later lists
  • Service visits: preventive maintenance, repair, inspection, emergency call or service call, with a technician, a truck and a built-in hydraulic checklist you can edit
  • Service billing: the call-out, labor and parts at your rates, each with its own sales-tax choice, to the rental the unit is on or to the customer who owns it
  • Driver app on the web and as a native iPhone app in beta on TestFlight (Android coming): compactor stops in the same day as roll-off dumpster stops, on a truck that carries both
  • Reports that export to CSV for your accountant

Common questions

What does DumpsterVibes cost?

2.9% of each transaction until your month's platform fees reach $79/month in platform fees, then 0.69% on everything after, up to $199 a month in platform fees, however it's paid (card, ACH, Cash App, cash, check, pay on delivery or net terms). Your fee month resets at midnight on the 1st in your company's time zone. No monthly fee, no per-user or per-driver fee, no contract. Unlimited trucks, cans, and staff. On payments made through Stripe (card, bank transfer, Cash App) the fee comes out of the payment itself. On cash, check and other offline payments it's charged to your card or bank account on file once a month. A month with no jobs costs nothing. One exception: a donated rental past your monthly allowance carries the platform fee on what the rental would have cost (nothing once your month's fees reach the maximum). Your DV website is included, on its own free yourcompany.dumpstervibes.com address. A custom domain (like yourcompany.com) is not included: you buy it in your own name and we connect it.

How do I get paid?

Each payment is made on your own Stripe account and pays out to your bank on Stripe's standard schedule (typically about 2 business days). You pay Stripe's processing fee on your own account. DumpsterVibes takes only its small platform fee, as part of each payment — no invoices to chase. Fees on cash and check jobs are charged to the card or bank account you keep on file with us (Tools → Platform Fees → Billing), with that charge's processing added.

How does invoicing work for contractors (net terms)?

Flag a customer as 'invoice' terms on any of their bookings. Their jobs then skip card-at-booking; at month end (or anytime) merge their bookings onto one invoice — or hit Batch-invoice to bill every net-terms customer at once. They pay the invoice link by card by default — you can enable bank transfer (ACH) for an individual customer from their profile — or you record their check.

Can I set special prices for certain customers?

Yes — the special pricing matrix sets per-size prices for any customer (contractors, municipalities). Their pricing applies automatically whenever they book, on every channel.

How does sales tax work?

Set your default rate, then override per zip for city/county differences. Flag tax-exempt customers (municipal, nonprofit) on their profile, and bookings your office or a driver enters for them carry no tax. The online checkout still charges tax, because a guest checkout can't prove who is booking — so book exempt customers from the office. Every booking snapshots its rate for clean records.

What about cash or check jobs?

Record the check number if you like, so everything stays on the books. Mark a cash or check job paid in the office and the platform share accrues on your dashboard. That money never passed through Stripe, so it comes out of your next customer card and bank payments, never more than half of any one payment, with no processing added. If nothing has been collected from you for 30 days, what you owe is charged automatically, once, to the card or bank account you keep on file with DumpsterVibes (Tools → Platform Fees → Billing). The processing on that charge is yours and is added on top (2.9% + $0.30 on a card, 0.8% (at most $5.00) on a bank account); it doesn't count toward the monthly maximum. A balance under $5.00 isn't charged; it carries forward until it reaches $5.00. If that charge fails, it isn't retried on its own: DumpsterVibes contacts you. Want it settled sooner? Press Pay under Platform fees any time.
